Voting Membership We hope that whenever you are involved in ‘church’ whether on Sunday, in PLUS, or serving, you feel that you are part of ‘The Family of God’ and have a sense of belonging to The Vine. But there is a deeper more formal step in which you can express your commitment to the church – becoming a Voting Member.
The Vine has a formal membership which forms the spiritual and legal congregation of the church, committed to sensing and hearing God’s voice for the church together with the leadership. It is empowered under the church constitution to vote on important issues affecting the direction and leadership of the church. But being a Voting Member of the church is not just about voting, it is an important step of commitment to the Vision and leadership of the church and implies an involvement with and responsibility towards this particular body of the believers in Hong Kong.
We would normally expect a Voting Member to:
- have attended the church for at least 3 months
- decided that The Vine is going to be their ‘home’ church in HK
- be committed to attend and tithe regularly
- be committed to a PLUS group or other small group activity
- be serving the church in some capacity
Voting membership of The Vine is open to all those who are born-again, baptized believers who are over the age of 18 and expect to be in Hong Kong for at least one year. If you are from another country and in Hong Kong for a fixed short period of time, we do not require you to terminate your membership of another church back at ‘home’. If, after careful thought and prayer, you would like to become a Voting Member you can obtain an application form and a copy of The Vine Constitution (containing our Statement of Faith) from the church office, or download the application form from the link below.
